Description:
Innkeep is a single player narrative adventure / job-sim about running a lonely inn during a fantasy world gold-rush. Adventurers and grave robbers are gathering, dreaming of robbing the now unprotected tombs of the gods themselves. And in the middle of it all, the Weary Pilgrim Inn, and its new master of the house: You.
The player will serve ale, cook meals, and eavesdrop on the conversations of a rotating cast of unique guests, each with their own dialogue and secrets. All the while, they will seek to set their guests at ease by deploying their growing collection of jokes and stories. If the guests have a merry time and drink enough, they’ll never even hear the player sneaking into their rooms at night to rummage through their belongings. You are looking for trinkets, but also for answers to an ancient secret: Why did demons invade the world?
History:
Daniel Burke began working on Innkeep in his free time in 2015. Over several years he fleshed out the concept while gradually beginning to collaborate with some talented artists to help develop the visuals. Ben Chandler (prev, Dark Forces (2024 remake), Unavowed,) has worked on character sprites and key art set pieces. Meanwhile, Torgeir Fjereide (prev, MTG Lord of the Rings CCG) has contributed menu art and pixel art character portraits.
In 2024 Daniel founded Boot Disk Games, and teamed up with the new publisher Mythwright, launched by game industry veterans. With funding secured, Keegan Martens (prev. Umbral Omen) joined the team as an assistant programmer and design consultant. Filippo Beck Peccoz (Prev. ) Tavern Talk, Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew) also joined as composer. Meanwhile, James Baille (The Exile Princes) has been contributing as a narrative consultant.
Trailers for the game have screened at Realms Deep. Innkeep has also appeared in Rock Paper Shotgun and Kotaku. Over 35,000 people have now wishlisted Innkeep on steam!
